Installation of Phorum

on Plesk VPS Fedora Linux

With the installation described below and (see install.txt in phorum-5.1.16.a.tar.gz ) Phorem started working
However there are still some questions.

install.txt = document_root/docs/install.txt

In my text I prefer to use
     phorum_url     ( =  phorum url )
     document_root  ( =  document root ))

1. System Description

Phorum version 5.1.16.a (See http://www.phorum.org )

System:
VPS fedora linux Plesk version 7.5.3 ( Flexservers.nl Flexservers.com )

2. Installation

2.1  Step 1: Plesk Control Panel

(See  install.txt 3.2 + 3.4 )

In Plesk control panel created FORUMSUBDOMAIN under MYDOMAIN_COM

Enabled php for FORUMSUBDOMAIN. MYDOMAIN_COM.
Created database with a users for phorum

Uploaded tar file

2.2 Step 2: SSH

As root ( See install.txt 3.2 + 3.5 )

Untarred Phorum
     tar xvzf phorum-5.1.16.a.tar.gz

Using include/db/config.php.sample
     created and modified include/db/config.php

Moved untarred directory structure with files to document_root ( = /home/httpdocs/vhosts/MYDOMAIN_COM/subdomains/FORUMSUBDOMAIN/httpdocs )
( phorum_url = http://FORUMSUBDOMAIN.MYDOMAIN_COM/ )

2.3 Step 3: Web based installer

See  install.txt 3.6 …

Chmoogle een chemie zoekmachine

Naaste 'gewone' chemie databases (Zie bijvoorbeeld http://dmoz.org/Science/Chemistry/Chemical_Databases/ voor een overzicht) bestaan er zelfs diverse speciale zoekmachines voor chemie. Als voorbeeld  http://www.chmoogle.com waarvoor op deze pagina een zoekformulier geplaatst is.
Naast tekstinvoer kan je ook op de button [Draw Structure] klikken waarna een venster geopend wordt waar een chemisceh formule getekend kan worden. Ook kan je aangeven of je een exact search of een substructuur search wil doen.

Daarna laat deze chemie zoekmachine hits op internet zien.
Een ander interssant overzicht van een aantal Chemistry Databases/Search Services (Small Molecule) on the Web is ook te vinden op http://cactus.nci.nih.gov/ncidb2/chem_www.html
